Personality type: interesting stuff.

This is from the "D.I.S.C." personality test.

I am a "CS".

Conscientious
(Cautious, Compliant, Correct, Calculating, Concerned, Careful, Contemplative)
  1. Slow and critical thinker, perfectionist.

  2. Logical, fact-based, organized, follows rules.

  3. Doesn't show feelings. Private. Few, but good friends.
Steady
(Submissive, Stable, Supportive, Shy, Status quo, Specialist)

  1. Consistent, likes stability.

  2. Accommodating, peace-seeking.

  3. Likes helping and supporting others. Good listener and counselor.

  4. Close relationships with few friends.

  5. Asks, rather than tells.

(You can get more info on each type here.)

I reminded myself of this today because I wrote about four blog posts today, and determined that none of them are ready for posting. I thought to myself, "maybe I'm too cautious, or too contemplative". So many people have said that our greatest strengths can also be our greatest weaknesses. (That sort of wisdom is even in comic books, people. It's legit.)

I tend to be cautious, and that can sometimes be problematic. Sometimes I wish that I could let go and jump, but that's not me. I hold on. I watch. I wait.

It's amazing how God uses each individual with their specific traits and personalities. He forms us from the womb. Each work of art is spectacularly different. We all have different purposes and different ways of going about things.

It is by God's grace that we get along so well. I am an introverted CS, yet I can get along with my polar personality opposite. Big differences don't cut us off. Rather, they show God's creativity.

God brings the beauty of diversity into the beauty of unity in Christ Jesus. It's pretty amazing.

  1. I am the absolute opposite... not sure if I am DI or ID, but either way, I am not like you.

And I love and appreciate you just the way you are.

Of course, being married nearly 38 years to someone very similar to you has helped me to understand that not everyone is ready for action and adventure at the drop of a hat! :D

  2. Could you imagine how absolutely boring life would be if every single person was the same? I'm sure some personality types would be fine with that...but mine certainly wouldn't. :P

Funny how we attracted the complete opposite to ourselves as lifelong mates eh mom? This is how we know God has a sense of humour.
